Honeymoon in Michigan – Watch out for the Sleeping Bear… Dunes?

Don’t hear too many people getting all crazy with their honeymoon trips to Michigan these days, do ya? Normally folks like to go to a beach where they serve you a drink that comes with a tiny umbrella. Actually Michigan is a gorgeous place to visit during the summer and fall. We had our wedding there as well, so we just stuck around for the honeymoon and drove around the giant hand of the Midwest.

Sleeping Bear Dunes is one of the many parks you can go and visit right there on the northern part of Lake Michigan. If you drive a little off-road of one of their trails, you get to visit a beach that has squeaky sand. The squeaks you hear mean that the sand you are walking on is very fine. There’s just a faint sound of tiny waves that hit the sand and seagulls cries. Just enough that actually when you close your eyes you can trick your brain to think it is the ocean… minus the stench the oceans sometimes has.
